Woody, always planning ahead, was eight and an only child when he conjured a sibling the only way a bright, nonverbal, cerebral palsied boy could
— he pointed to Mom’s tummy and Dad’s... lap and waved his hands like wands. The result: Ann, Woody’s Order! assigned a destiny - “To be thy brother’s keeper just in case...”

Woody dreamed she’d always be there if he needed her. She dreamed of Broadway. Ann says: “I have always depended on the kindness of strange people.”  Woody says: ... well he nods his head laughing to agree.
