A little song, a little dance, a lot of poignance.

In 1931, nine African American teenagers were accused of raping a woman on a train chugging its way across Alabama. The legal battles that followed resulted in death penalty verdicts, Supreme Court rulings, lynch-mob mentalities and eventually, the most well-known miscarriage of justice in American history.

Just imagine this Jim Crow era story coming to life on stage in the form of a minstrel show. The Scottsboro Boys makes its Pittsburgh debut, complete with guidance from the legendary Susan Stroman, who earned two of the 12 Tony Award nominations the 2010 production garnered.
